- Eduard van Dijk: The last couple of years New York is undergoing a real transformation: from a concrete jungle to a greener, more livable city. Everywhere in the city and the boroughs you can see trees and flower beds being planted. Streets are being closed off and becoming a pedestrian zone with chairs, potted plants and bike lanes. Vacant space under elevated highways is being used for farmers' markets, dog parks and basketball courts. For me, this transformation is making a great city like New York even more awesome!
- GreySH101: Yes it’s been a transformation alright. You don’t actually hear many New York accents on the street anymore. It’s the clean city that suits the taste of the gentrifiers moving in. The artist and musicians have all disappeared. Mom and pop shops have been replaced by chains. It’s a douche factory reflecting the tastes of one class alone. The upper class.. Congratulations on erasing the classic NYC culture that was already there and world renown.
