💖 The Founder: Tricia Eleogram and her sister from Tennessee created the holiday in 1996.
💖 The Purpose: It was designed to spread affection, highlight sibling relationships, and increase community appreciation for sisterhood.
💖 Official Recognition: The holiday gained official traction when the state of Tennessee recognized it via a House Joint Resolution in January 1996.
