Seduction Scene in North by Northwest

The Seduction Scene

North by Northwest
The line she says is: "I never make love on an empty stomach" The censors made them dub in "discuss" for "make" in post production.
If you look closely you can see her mouth saying the original line.

A gem in movie history.
Hitchcock uses his sardonic wit to describe his 1950s suspense classic.

One of my favorites...

Selected as one of the top 50 American films of all time by the prestigious American Film Institute, and considered by many critics to be Hitchcock's greatest film, this fast-paced thriller stars Oscar-winner Cary Grant as a Madison Avenue advertising exec who is mistaken for someone else and kidnapped by a group of international spies, headed by James Mason. After a hair-raising escape, he is framed for a murder he didn't commit and goes on the run with the lovely Eva Marie Saint
Famous for a wild plane attack and a harrowing chase across the faces of Mount Rushmore, this is quintessential Hitchcock .
With Academy Award-winner Martin Landau as Mason's evil henchman, this film is the rare combination of action, suspense and humor.

Soundtrack Suite Composed by
Bernard Herrmann

Playlist:
-00:00 = "Overture"
-02:14 = "Cheers"
-02:54 = "The Wild Ride"
-04:21 = "The Elevator"
-05:03 = "The Knife"
-05:48 = "Conversation Piece"
-07:46 = "The Station"
-08:34 = "The Crash"
-09:39 = "The House"
-11:15 = "The Gates"
-11:51 = "The Stone Faces"
-13:11 = "On The Rocks"
-14:11 = "Finale"

It sets the stage for the whole film as soon as the lines start to take the shape of windows of the side of building and traffic builds. It covers everything about this Hitchcock masterpiece. It is fitting that Herrmann’s masterwork should be covering the film. It even has a memorable soft like forest theme for the love interest. The score is at its best when the stakes are the highest though whether it be driving under the influence by an ocean cliff or on top of Mount Rushmore.

Amelia Liarakos of Fairfax, Va., won a student gold ADDY Award from the American Advertising Federation for her work “North by Northwest Titles” in the Elements of Advertising – Visual category.

Liarakos graduated from Virginia Tech in May 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in visual communication design from the College of Architecture and Urban Studies’ School of Visual Arts and a minor in classical studies from the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.

As a film buff and lover of Hitchcock films, I particularly enjoyed her take on the opening credits for the classic Hitchcock film.
