Windows 10 has lots of settings that you probably want to change if you haven't already. Many of these are privacy settings, but there are some for convenience as well. There are even a few cool windows features that aren't on by default that you can enable. One example is Windows new "Night Light" mode with the latest creators update. I go through all of these settings and show you exactly how to change them.

These default settings are no good! Here is what to change.
Hummingbirds are birds native to the Americas and comprise the biological familyTrochilidae. With approximately 375 species and 113 genera, they occur from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego, but most species are found in Central and South America. As of 2026, 21 hummingbird species are listed as endangered or critically endangered, with about 255 species declining in population.
Fly, Shake, Drink
in Amazing Slow Motion
National Geographic
They move so fast that human eyes see only a hovering spot of color, a blur of wings. But when frozen in time by high-speed cameras, hummingbirds yield their secrets.
Hummingbirds live exclusively in the Americas. The smallest can weigh less than two grams. The largest, the giant hummingbird found in Peru and Chile, tips the scales at around 20 grams. You could send something that weight in the U.S. mail with a single first-class stamp. World’s smallest birds is just one of several distinctions that hummingbird species claim. They’re the only birds that can hover in still air for 30 seconds or more. They’re the only birds with a “reverse gear”—that is, they can truly fly backward. And they’re the record holders for the fastest metabolic rate of any vertebrate on the planet.

Hummingbird Pool Party
As hummingbirds flutter into the scene, each has their own particular bathing style. Many choose to stay and relax in one place, while others have a more hyperactive personality. These high-strung birds take a quick dip and then, just as fast, are out of the water again. Because the video is so short, it’s worth watching a few times to observe how each of the individual hummingbirds interact with the pool—it’s fascinating.
While it’s not unusual to see one or two birds in a bath at a time, Wild Wings notes this particular sight is an anomaly; hummingbirds can be territorial, and the tranquility seen here doesn’t last. They write, “You’d never know they will be harassing each other in five minutes’ time.”

A Neuroscientist Explains ☕ What Caffeine Does to Your Brain π§
Neuroscience candidate Shannon Odell takes us through exactly what's going on in your brain as you drink caffeine. Before we get started, make sure you're good and caffeinated so you can follow along.
Humans have been drinking the stuff for thousands of years, and it's actually the most regularly consumed psychoactive drug in the world. It's a psychostimulant that stimulates the CNS. you know, kinda like cocaine, meth, and Ritalin. But it's not a drug of abuse since it's only a mild stimulant.
How does caffeine keep us awake?
Hanan Qasim
Over 100,000 metric tons of caffeine are consumed around the world every year. That’s equivalent to the weight of 14 Eiffel Towers! Caffeine helps us feel alert, focused, and energetic, even if we haven’t had enough sleep — but it can also raise our blood pressure and make us feel anxious. So how does it keep us awake? Hanan Qasim shares the science behind the world’s most widely used drug.
A Scientist Explains What Alcohol Does to Your Brain
VIDEO
It's obvious alcohol affects the brain - but even though it seems to affect everyone differently, there are a few chemical reactions that alcohol is stimulating in everyone's body while they're tying one on. Things may get a little blurry as Neuroscience Ph.D. candidate Shannon Odell takes you through what's scientifically happening as she continues to drink.
As a side note, and for the sake of clarity, one “unit of alcohol” means 10 mL of pure alcohol. This translates to the following volumes, according to the U.S. Department of Health: 12 fluid ounces of regular beer (5 percent alcohol), 5 fluid ounces of wine (12 percent alcohol), or 1.5 fluid ounces of 80 proof distilled spirits (40 percent alcohol).
Why Do We Get Blackout Drunk?
If you've ever drunk too much, you might've experienced the phenomenon of "blacking out." Why does this happen? Trace is here to explain what occurs in the brain once you've consumed a large amount of alcohol.
