Royal Opera House
“Feel Something New”
by Atomic
This campaign to mark the revamped Royal Opera House uses a revolutionary imaging process to capture the shape and color of movement, blurring the lines between the moving and still image.
Atomic created a series of striking abstract images using a new digital technology influenced by scientist Harold Edgerton, the inventor of many imaging devices such as the high-speed flash.
Over a three-day shoot, ballet and opera stars from the Royal Opera House constantly repeated choreographed moves at a meticulously measured pace, carefully adjusting their body shapes between each take.
The campaign was written by Alex Wood, Dani Brown, Nigel Roberts and Dave Henderson, and art directed by Henderson and Pete Mould.
