Grandmother's Day
In France, the first Sunday of March,
the ancestors are celebrated.
Grandmother's Day was created in 1987 by the Café Grand'Mère coffee brand , part of the Kraft Jacobs Suchard group ; it is therefore of commercial origin.
Since then, in France, the first Sunday of March, the ancestors are celebrated. The popularity grew in the years following its launch, and was then the subject of workshops / competitions in schools. The promotional campaigns are still topical and the party is mentioned in the press. It is therefore mentioned in some French calendars .
In October 2008, it was the occasion for a sociological study , commissioned by the association "Fête des grands-mères", devoted to the study of the role and place of grandmothers in the family and in society.
Another study from 2008 showed that it had a significant impact on the sale of indoor plants.
