For those unaware, if you go look up the episode he admits to a colleague at the end that he made the results up so that the couple would have a nice Christmas together.

He was also involved in a bet that he could never be so nice to his patients that they would give him gifts out of gratefulness. This blatant lie won him the bet with Wilson. It was that House couldn't be nice?

He reveals shortly after this to Wilson that he just played into it because he found it amusing; she cheated.

She cheated and House helped her cover it up by claiming it was spontaneous parthenogenesis.

Her face at the end was priceless as she realized House just left her with a massive lie to juggle for the rest of their marriage.

The "virgin birth" scene was House full on lying to the patient's fiancé to cover up that the patient cheated on him. Later in the episode she brings him a gift to thank him.

It’s important to note that house is supposed to be the doctor version of detective Holmes (one of the main inspirations for the show) the way he knows what’s wrong is simply that, he just knows. No one in the show knows how he knows and no one else in the show has the same ability. That’s also how the idea of him messing up is impossible to himself.
